Student Welfare Officer

Description

SCEI-HE are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Student Welfare Officer (SWO) to join our team in Melbourne and extend support to our students. The position is a full-time, permanent role; dedicated to an allocation of both SCEI and SCEI-HE students. The successful candidate will be bright, energetic and have an infectious positive attitude; confident as a result of their previous experience in a student support role at another organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare for and conduct orientation sessions
  • Coordinate and facilitate counselling services for students
  • Follow-up on students who require academic support, and engage them in an intervention plan where required
  • Offer support and advice on a range of academic and personal issues the student may be experiencing, in consultation with the applicable Academic Director / Course Coordinator
  • Prepare for and conduct student feedback sessions as requested by the academic leadership
  • Liaise with academic management, trainers, lecturers and tutors to resolve any issues with students’ academic results
  • Issue attendance and academic warning letters according to the organisation’s policies and procedures and legislative standards
  • Proof student RPL applications before putting them forward to higher academic management
  • Provide students with useful information on a range of topics, including academic skills, conduct, community networks in and around SCEI Group
  • Save and file student documents and records to dedicated locations
  • Organise fortnightly social activities to help create an inclusive and friendly environment
  • Ad hoc duties as required by Management.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor degree in Psychology or similar discipline
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
  • Ability to deal with student personal matters and liaise with external bodies to provide additional support to students
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • Strong administration skills
  • Knowledge of legislative / visa requirements (e.g. the ESOS Act, Education Act, etc)
  • Working With Children Check essential

Enrollment Officer

Description

SCEI-HE is currently seeking a procedurally driven Enrollment Officer to join our team in Melbourne and extend support to our students. The position is a full-time, permanent role; dedicated to assisting both SCEI and SCEI-HE students and staff throughout the pre and post enrollment process. You will be the first point of contact for students via phone, email, and the students’ portal, dealing with a range of queries or issues. This role provides end to end support throughout the Student journey, tending to matters including cancellations, deferrals and inquiries relating to courses and SCEI / SCEI-HE processes. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in a similar customer facing role, with another education provider.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process student applications and enrolment
  • Tending to all enrolment matters relating to student enrolment status
  • Answering phone calls, emails and other correspondence from students or prospective students regarding their enrolment
  • Liaise with the Student Welfare Officers regarding emotional support or the facilitation of implementing academic reform plans
  • Liaise with the Accounts Department regarding payment status of student enrolments
  • Work closely with local and international agents, where applicable, to facilitate the enrolment process

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a support/administrative role (RTO or Private Higher Education Provider admin support highly regarded)
  • Previous experience within a customer service focused role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experienced with Gmail Suite and Microsoft Office 365

SCEI-HE currently delivers a Bachelor of Health and Community Services and a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and has campuses in both Adelaide and Melbourne. SCEI-HE seeks Sessional Lecturers to deliver either of these undergraduate programs. Both program intakes commence in March of 2021.

 Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Proven ability to contribute to course design and development.

Desirable

Reporting to the IT Manager, the Administrator will maintain and develop all hardware and software that SCEI utilise, ensuring that they are in strong working order, and implementing new software and hardware that will improve operations.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Maintain smooth IT operations of Network, ​Internet, ​Phone Servers,​ File Servers, Print Servers, ​Terminal Servers and ​Wi-Fi. ​
  • Research and purchase computers, printers and other IT resources for campus use
  • PC assembly and troubleshooting
  • Daily IT checks and backups
  • Liaise with external companies for IT projects
  • Secure SCEI IT network against external attacks, hacks or unauthorized use.
  • Install/ rebuild workstations as required
  • Manage Online Google Apps (Gmail, Google Drive, Calendars, etc.) for ​internal and external employees and students

The Role

The Work Placement Officer will support the Course Coordinators of SCEI-HE’s undergraduate programs in securing and booking work placements and ensuring that all related admin tasks are completed. The Work Placement Officer will also support the Coordinators in building and maintaining industry connections. The ideal candidate will be a well-presented individual with exceptional communication and organisational skills, an understanding of the Australian education environment and be a quick learner.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Meet with students prior to placement to conduct file checks and brief students
  • Ensure all placement documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Visit work placement facilities to build and maintain relationships
  • Report significant student work placement issues to the Course Coordinators, Lecturers and / or other relevant stakeholders (e.g Enrolment Officers, Accounts)
  • Assist the Coordinators in creating information packs and correspondence for all facilities and facilitators
  • Ensure electronic systems are updated with placement information
  • Keep placement facilities informed of student information
  • Other duties as required and as negotiated.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in administration/business management/ health/ community services or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience working in a HEd environment or previous experience in Community Services, Allied Health or Early Childhood Education (desirable)
